Bulletin #1 8/3/16

Turning the calendar to August marks the official beginning of our 2016-2017 school year! However, we have been busy all summer leading up to this week in preparation for this new school year...Mrs. Lapeyrade-Drummond and I spent 3 days in June at conference on building expertise and rigor in schools. Ms. Taylor and Ms. Ganey went a conference in July by the Staff Development Institute and they were each able to attend sessions specific to their grade levels. Several of us attended the California Teacher Summit last Friday at St. Mary's College where we gathered with 500 other educators at that site along with 38 additional sites throughout the state.I am excited to introduce Marcella Egan who will be our new Spanish teacher. Ms. Egan comes to us from the Sacramento Diocese where she has taught Spanish for over 10 years. We have also welcomed Kim Fogarty to her new role in the front office. These are just the highlights of the past few weeks. We look forward to welcoming everyone to the new school year!
Peace and Blessings,
Karen Goodshaw
Father, Creator of all, thank You for summer!
Thank you for the warmth of the sun
and the increased daylight.
Thank You for the beauty I see all around me
and for the opportunity to be outside and enjoy Your creation.
Thank You for the increased time I have to be with my friends and family,
and for the more casual pace of the summer season.
Draw me closer to You this summer.
Teach me how I can pray
no matter where I am or what I am doing.
Warm my soul with the awareness of Your presence
and light my path with Your Word and Counsel.
As I enjoy Your creation, create in me
a pure heart and a hunger and a thirst for You.
Amen.
