 Mr. Howard teaches 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th Grade Math, and Algebra I.


At St. Perpetua, we are following the Common Core Standards for Mathematics at all grade levels.  This allows students to be competitive as they enter high school.  Math students have the opportunity to demonstrate proficiency in Algebra I, allowing them to continue on to Geometry their Freshman year of high school.  Our students go on to be successful in Catholic high schools, as well as the the competitive public and private high schools in the area.

This is Mr. Howard’s 11th year at St. Perpetua School, and his 19th year teaching for the Oakland Diocese.  He is originally from Alameda, CA, and attended Encinal High School and San Francisco State University, earning his B.S. degree in Kinesiology, with a concentration in Exercise Science and Fitness.  Mr. Howard holds a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Math.  Prior to teaching at St. Perpetua, Mr. Howard taught at the high school level for nine years, and at the middle school level for two.  When he isn’t at school, Mr. Howard spends time with his wife, son, and daughter exploring California, listening to music, and learning new things.
