¡Hola! ¡Bienvenidos a Santa Perpetua!

I was raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico.  I am the 8th child of a family of nine.  My family migrated to the U.S. when I was 14.  I learned English by immersion! I attended high school at Our Lady of Peace in San Diego, CA and have a B.A. in Spanish Literature from the University of California, San Diego. I live with my husband in Martinez, CA. My son and my daughter have both graduated from college and are working as environmental scientists. this will be my 16th year teaching Kindergarten through 8th grade.

I enjoy traveling, gardening and going to the theatre.  In my spare time I like to read and spending time with my family.

I love teaching Spanish! You will often find me collaborating with world language teachers and looking for new fun ways to enhance our language-learning program.

My hope is that I may spark curiosity about other cultures and a love for learning to speak another language. I hope to leave beautiful footprints in the life of my students.

Hope you have a wonderful school year!

Paz,

Cecilia Lopez
